A little breeze accompanied the sun’s rays that crossed through her hair. Particularly in the morning, the temperature had dropped somewhat below yesterday. A delicate mist hung in the air while a few drops on the tea leaves glistened in the sunlight. Cheers from birds delighted the environment. It gave her the impression that love was floating around and set off specific feelings within me. Lost in the present, she welcomed the peace and delighted in her solo stroll over the avenue of the tea plantation.
She suddenly heard someone call her, “Shalli.” Turning back, she saw Jack walking toward her through the mist. Although they weren’t close friends, she was still familiar with him. She wondered, whispering to herself, why he was here to disturb my peaceful time. However, she cared not to let my thoughts show on her face; she welcomed him. Jack walked with her and began chatting about the location and its rich history; surprisingly, she also found that interesting.
Time ventured on, and she knew it was time to head home. She said goodbye to him, hoping to see him again the next day. Their little chat made her feel friendly and made her realize that developing a close relationship doesn’t always take a lot of effort.
They met at the same location and time the next day as well. He constantly made an effort to be friendly to her and always tried to bring a fresh interesting topic. Their relationship became closer with time, and they started enjoying one another’s presence. Whenever they could, they made time to spend together.
One day, he vanished from her life, leaving no calls, texts, or anything else behind.
Years flew by…
Suddenly, then, she got a call; she understood that it was him.
Her heart soared as she experienced immense joy. Their talks started once again, bringing joy to her days. Every call and message he sent made her pleased. She was excited for them.
Months passed….
And then once more he vanished. When she tried to call him, her call went unanswered. She finally understood he changed his number. She was confused; she could not know what was going on between them.
Depression set in, reflecting her past suffering. She needed days to let go, to face the reality, and to sort things.
She was strong, though.
She made a decision to permanently cut off someone like him from her life. She came to see that holding on would just cause emotional suffering. She then bravely pushed ahead, enjoying the peace she truly deserved.
